ARE
YOU READY TO SUBMIT?
Want your words/poetry/artwork featured on TheWordParty.com?
Here's what you've got to do: Show up at our READINGS!!!
The Word Party, and our website, seeks to create a creative, responsive, and
accepting community of artists, writers, and poets—live and in-person,
as well as on the web. We offer our site as a means to promote the poets who
attend our East and West Coast open mics on a regular and frequent basis (see
home page for event details). We reserve the right
to choose which poets and pieces are published on our site based not only
on the quality of the work, but also on poet/artist/writer's participation
in The Word Party’s events.
The Word Party encourages experimentation, but also feels that comprehension
and clarity are important to the works. If the editors feel that your poem
needs editorial assistance before posting, we will contact you. If we do not
get a response, we will not post the poem. All poet responses must go directly
to the editor who contacts the poet. Please see below for specific formatting
and submission regulations.
• All submissions should be in ONE MicroSoft Word document (not another
program.)
• In a 12 point font in Ariel or Times New Roman.
• The title of the document should be the poet's name.
• The document must include your e-mail address and a URL link if you
have a website of your own.
• No more than 7 poems submitted at one time. Poems can be no longer
than 400 words; prose pieces no longer than 2000 words.
• All entries must submit a bio (not more than 150 words) and a photo
in jpeg format.
• If you submit artwork, please send photos in jpeg format.

WEST Coast—send submissions to:

SUPPORT POETRY!
Unfortunately poetry doesn't always pay the bills and somehow
we have to pay for the upkeep of our website, printing and more. If you regularly
attend the readings we host or benefit from our efforts in some way and feel
the need to give back, feel free to donate by coming to our night where we
ask for a small donation for the band and organizers OR donate by mail
and drop us a line for more info. Thanks for supporting us!
