2005 Re-cap...so far...
The end of September gave us the beginning of SF's indian summer as well
as some wild nights at club deluxe. And now, the highlights...
- Jesse's muse Tiffini, (< see pic #2) reading her poetry for the first
time to a live audience. She was amazing and truly impressed us with a very
soulful first, a born poet!
- RadioActive rocking the mic with the band and an unfortunately injured foot
:(
- The beginning of some spontaneous collaborative poetry between Ingrid, Jennifer
and resident jazz musicians Ross and Sam— turning the tables as musicians
read poetry and poets played instruments!!!
- The winner (see top photo) of our free beer trivia quiz- Charlie! Daniel's
mind-bender: What is the speed of light? Apparently too tough, next question-
What corner are we on? You guessed it, Haight & Ashbury, but Charlie got
it first...and scored a free beer!
- Also Charlie's "Sweet Onion Salad" poem rocked our socks off as
well as Charlie’s shoes, which landed on the floor of Club Deluxe!
- Season's well-seasoned and saucy poetry about female body parts and
grueling tales of retail work madness! We love her. (see left pic #4 -
our Season in red :)
- Our very own fireball
of creative energy, Daniel—(see photo left with sax in hand) playing
every instrument in the house, climbing on chairs and whipping out some
original jazz for our listening pleasure!
- Jesse (see last photo below) wooed us with passionate pleas to NOT be
a poet and an imaginative account of the New Orleans river.
- Lots of fights broke out last week as the moon was waxing to its fullest.
Wild poets, wild jazz musicians, old men with capes! craziness...Yes the
freaks DO come out at night. So come on DOWN to club deluxe and don't
miss some zaniness, good friends, great LIVE Jazz and kick ass poetry,
literally!
Hope to see you next week!!!
