2005 Re-cap...
The end of October and beginning of November gave us some warm days and hot
nights at Club Deluxe. We started off asking Katarina, our luscious bartender,
to tell us her thoughts on the past 5 months since we've taken over Tuesdays.
She had some funny answers that made us pee our pants. In case you missed

We think our 5 months
at Club Deluxe has allowed us the priviledge to know so many great poets and
musicians. We have a tight group of artists and friends who never cease to
amaze, and sometimes, shock us with their talent. Here are just a few highlights
from the past few weeks:
-Diamond Dave Whitaker sending us on his wave of transformation. His words
(and hands) knew how to vibe our band into a frenzy.
- Lisa singing! Check her out, third pick to the left. A set of serious pipes!
-Rashna and Thatcher getting their groove on together. After she read her
poem about sundaes and confident drinks, Thatcher got hot and bothered after
accompanying her with his trumpet. Can someone please buy that man a drink?
-Luigi Pistolli came to our reading with a hip hop piece singing "Hey
boo, i'm gonna do you..."
-Our band, Nova Jazz quartet, getting the whole place humming some Miles Davis
in unison.
-Tekayo rocking the mic for the first time, so he says. He was incredible
and came at us with something straight off the top of his head. He wasn't
nervous at all!
- A random pick-up line quote of the night, "I want to touch you, I'm
sorry."
As you can see lots of love to go around from our musicians and poets. Come
on down to Club Deluxe every Tuesday night and bring your words and instruments
and make it hot, hot, hot. Live jazz & poetry, always on Tuesdays, always
at Club Deluxe. Katarina will whip up some fresh mojitos for your palette.
