JULY 2005 RE-CAP...
We're 3 weeks into our
Poetry & Jazz Jam on tuesdays,
and it is officially on!
We're kicking our heels to the boys in the band, Nova
Jazz (we like to call them "bad asses"). They're hot, they rock,
AND they play with our poets! Thanks guys!!!
In case you didn't know, the West Coast is holding down the wordparty tradition
of being funkay, freaky and party lovely! Jennifer, Daniel and Ingrid are
having a great time vibing off everyone.
A few highlights this week: Nicole's lovely poem about Happy Hour and a little
ditty about getting kicked out of Band camp, Sara's off the cuff piece about
being in love with some pavement, Bill's ode to the "tendernob"
and July 4th, and Jennifer's piece about the succulent juice of peaches.
Some highlights
from the previous week were the appearance of none other than the "Rock
Lobster" himself—Fred Schneider from the B52s having a drink in
the back, Adam from "The Weeds" doing spoken word with the band
and lots of singing, swinging and mixing up poetry & jazz!
