December 2006 Re-cap...

December was a very busy month! We kicked off December with a special event called "She Speaks" at the Beat Museum and are working on a re-cap of the whole event on our She Speaks page. We had a very powerful show and featured the famous goddess of the beat generation — ruth weiss and many of our favorite local lady poets. be on the lookout for the next She Speaks in March.

December was cold, but Club Deluxe was still hopping, most of our favorite moments involved music!

— Colin, our man on the bass, just can't help himself when he's moved by the music. Here he is banging against a glass with a drum stick around the club. What can we say? Colin just rocks and always brings a smile to our face!

— DJ Sun was invited onstage with Wiseproof to get up on the good foot and let his Freak Flag fly. We can't get enough of people who get down to poetry & jazz.

— The Nova Jazz quartet is a wild bunch, you just never know what they'll do next. Daniel lends the mic over to Mike, our guitarist for song.

— Lorin is the best scat in the city, especially when he interprets poetry in his very own musical language. Here he is with Jennifer doing a round-robin poem/scat.

— One of our new favorite poets, Rudy Waltz, has moved back to SF and graced our stage with a great dose of hilarious, sarcastic poetry. We love his personality, stage presence and sheer honesty.
