THE HISTORY OF MY HEART
OH
JENNIFER
WE
MUST NEVER HAVE A FIGHT
Oh
Jennifer
oh jennifer…
will you ever get tired of writing about love?
how many times can you use the words:
longing, desire, touch, embrace, kiss, passion
soul, lips, thighs, flesh, tongue, skin—
that’s all you ever think about!
you are obsessed!
obsessed with every sensation!
so occupied with transient pleasures—
(oh, there’s that word again…)
when will you tire of everything romantic
of everything related to l – o – v – e
your actual life plays like
scenes from a movie
most people don’t believe
half the stories you tell
or the things you have faith in
but, actually
i can’t think of anything more aggravating
as that which is not truly tangible
which makes it so desirable
(oh, there’s that word again!) |
